Lizbeth West, AWI-CH is a shareholder at Weintraub Tobin and is the Chair of the Firm’s Labor and Employment Group. She is admitted to practice law in California and Washington and has years of experience counseling and defending employers in all areas of employment law. Her practice focuses on counseling and training employers, human resource professionals, and management staff on laws relating to hiring; performance improvement; disciplinary actions; privacy; terminations and lay-offs; employment policies and contracts; protection of trade secrets; wage and hour laws; leaves of absence and accommodation laws; discrimination, harassment and retaliation; and compliance with other state and federal employment laws. Beth also has extensive experience defending employers in various forms of employment-related litigation in state and federal court, and in administrative actions before a number of state and federal agencies. In addition to her employment practice, Beth serves as a neutral workplace investigator for private companies and public agencies. She is a charter and sustaining member of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) and has passed the rigorous AWI exam to obtain a certificate in workplace investigations. Also, with her years of experience as an employment attorney and her specialized training and certification from Cornell University's ILR School in employment mediation, Beth provides trusted and effective mediation services to resolve various employment-related disputes.
