Alyssa-Rae McGinn has extensive experience leading a variety of complex investigations, with particular expertise in conducting investigations at educational institutions and corporations into allegations of sexual misconduct and identity-based harassment involving students, faculty, staff, and corporate leadership. Alyssa-Rae has also served as a decision maker and hearing chair for matters brought under the 2020 Title IX regulations and as an interim Title IX Coordinator to support and supplement the Title IX function at schools. Alyssa-Rae was previously a Senior Associate at Ankura, where she and Dan Schorr established the firm’s Title IX and Civil Rights Investigations practice and grew it to assist institutions nationwide. Prior to Ankura, Alyssa-Rae was an Associate Director in Kroll’s Business Investigations & Intelligence practice, where she co-founded the Women’s Network at Kroll. Alyssa-Rae also served on the board of the Massachusetts ME/CFS & FM Association and has volunteered with the NYC Anti-Violence Project, East Harlem Tutorial Program, and Team Brownsville. Alyssa-Rae holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English from St. John’s University, where she conducted and published scholarly research focused on identity relationships in undergraduate pedagogy. She is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor at Syracuse University College of Law, where she is an editorial member of the Syracuse Law Review and a student member of the College of Law Inclusion Council. Alyssa-Rae is a pre-approved Sexual Misconduct Investigator for the United Educators ProResponse Expert Services Benefit.
