Marissa Ingley’s unique perspective on the practice of employment law is the product of over two decades of experience,
including eleven years as in-house counsel at two large publicly traded companies.
Marissa is a problem solver, bringing a practical approach and calm demeanor to the most sensitive and difficult
situations, while aligning to the client’s business objectives. She advises employers of all types and sizes regarding
employment issues and claims, including discrimination and harassment, disability accommodation, paid sick leave and
leaves of absence, wage and overtime, and discipline and terminations, among other issues. She assists in identifying
goals and strategies and guides leadership teams to translate strategy into action, while ensuring legal compliance.
Marissa also has significant experience conducting sensitive investigations and employment diligence for mergers and
acquisitions.
As in-house counsel, Marissa was part of the leadership team at two large companies with employee population of more
than 20,000 employees each, partnering closely with human resource teams to proactively resolve both strategic and
day-to-day employee related challenges. She handled a full-spectrum of employment law related concerns including
conducting employment law diligence processes for merger and acquisitions, helped guide the HR-related integration
of new businesses, conducted sensitive investigations, ensured wage and hour compliance and counseled businesses
through reductions-in-force.
Marissa spent the first nine years of her career with Littler, from 2002 to 2011. During that time, she advised and
represented a broad array of clients in single plaintiff and class action discrimination claims, class and collective actions
involving overtime and other wage-related and medical leave claims.
In law school, Marissa was senior associate editor of The Labor Lawyer.
