Description

When you receive a report of wrongdoing, you want to act fast and gather as many details as possible to resolve the issue quickly. But
what if you can’t follow up with the reporter? In this session, we’ll discuss one of the foundations of dealing with whistleblower reports: what to do if the anonymous report doesn’t give you a full picture of the incident. In addition, our speakers will explain how to use new technologies and strategies to augment the initial anonymous complaint.

After attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the benefits and challenges of anonymous reporting
  • Understand why victims and witnesses might be reluctant to report misconduct
  • Know potential challenges that could arise when the reporter wants to remain anonymous
  • Identify alternative courses of information-gathering if a reporter doesn’t engage after their initial submission
  • Name the best ways to make anonymous reporting available to internal and external parties
  • Learn how to promote a safe environment that encourages self-identification - or at least post submission engagement with the whistleblower
  • Learn how to deal with bad-faith anonymous reports
  • Identify the features of an effective reporting mechanism and management system

All registrants will have acces to a recording of the webinar 48 hours after the live program.
